Dr Sarah Barker is a Consultant clinical psychologist based in London with over 30 years of experience. She specialises in chronic pain, post-traumatic stress disorder, physical health, anxiety and depression.
Dr Barker has extensive experience working with individuals, groups, families and couples treating a wide variety of both psychological and physical conditions. She has completed additional training in CBT, systemic therapy, mindfulness and ACT, and is a fully accredited EMDR therapist. She has published research on narrative approaches, chronic pain, chronic illness and the psychological impact of iatrogenic injury.
Dr Barker has held clinical and managerial positions dealing with outpatients and residential pain management, and worked for 28 years for the NHS including Consultant posts at Guys and St Thomas' Hospital and Kings College Hospital. She is currently working with Healthy You and NHS England to deliver training to PMAs and PMAs alongside running her private practice. She has spoken at national conferences to Dentists and Pain Doctors and has published articles on psychology applied to dentistry and surgery.
